Last Week’s Update…stay connected!
It is with profound sadness and heartache that we must share of the death of Conner Xavier Campochiaro, aka “Shorty”, son of our beloved Malaree from the Street Church Family. Malaree loved/s her sons fiercely to a depth I have seldom seen. Please be in prayer for our dear friend and those in her family. She asks for privacy at this unsettled time. Be sure she knows of your deep and heartfelt love.

(from Kenny)
It was quite the day at Street Church. I loaded up the van pretty quickly thanks to Bryan's effort during the week to prepare everything. Shoutout to him and his family for making all of the sandwiches and sorting/packing 1000 pieces of candy for our friends for Halloween! A hand-cramping effort.
I headed downtown and found a small Cru waiting for us - specially Cru from UConn was there this week. They've been coming down once per month since the school year started (as they had in previous years), and it's such an honor that they chose to spend a large chunk of their Saturday with us downtown, knowing there's so many activities on campus they could be choosing instead (including sleep!).
It was Early Voting again for the second straight week at City Hall. So like last week, we set up on the grass next door. The Lord gave us a parking spot right in front of the grass which worked out perfectly. Ed and Rebecca helped configure the space and we got moving.
Terry, Ed, John, and Derek gave the readings for the day. I gave a message on The Beatitudes - how Jesus calls us to have a heart posture of humility especially in a country run by those seeking money, fame, and power. It was especially pertinent given it was Halloween, which can be a fun occasion yet can also be filled with symbols of darkness. They say the best sermons are those when the speaker preaches to themselves, so that's what I needed to do today.
Afterwards, I had so many interesting interactions with folks.
Roman, an older gentleman asked for prayer. He said he had been deep in the occult and practiced satanism back in the day, but is trying to get back to God. He prays in the morning but hears laughter in his head when doing so. He believes he's demonically oppressed (I believe it). He asked for prayers to be released from those demons. Knowing how heavy that is, I called Benson over and we both prayed for him. He didn't feel immediately released in that moment, but thanked us and said he'll be back tomorrow
A woman named Nicole stopped by. She kept calling herselves an evangelist and wanted to know what we're about. She had a lot to say about how she does and what she wants to do. I told her who we were and to stop by again next week if she'd like to learn more.
A woman named Christine came by after voting, wondering what was happening. I was able to share how Jesus is working through us. She listened and then went on her way.
A young lady named Chazi asked for prayer and discernment. She's married to another woman but is seeking a divorce because she doesn't feel at peace. I don't think she knows what she wants, but knows what she currently has isn't it. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to pray with her as we were just about to start communion. She walked away with some friends at one point but I chased her down (Jesus leaving the 99 for the 1), brought her back to the area, but kept getting interrupted. I hope she comes back.
A couple came up to me as we were packing up. They're from Rhode Island but visiting Hartford for the weekend. They were walking past and heard the readings and stayed the entire time. They said they're starting a Homeless outreach in their city, and they walk in circles with others who do the same in that area. I'm glad the Holy Spirit brought them.
So yeah, a lot of stuff. Matthew, who has been with us for a while, was great in handing out items and helping out, especially early on. He joined us in the circle but then started asking some odd questions. I redirect him and told him I'd like to talk after.
Ed came back to storage with me to help unload. It was nice catching up with him.
Blessings,
Kenny

No church services earlier this week as I cancelled to avoid contact with too many people before my surgery today. … but let me share what God did.
It started off with me getting a text while I was waiting to go into the operating room from the car mechanic where I towed my truck to yesterday. It has passed the point of diminishing returns and I am actively looking for a new truck on the couch tomorrow. If anyone I led to help and donate to our family/work truck please feel free!
My nurse was a fine young man named Tom, who was Polish so we began to talk about Poland which led to my work in Ukraine which led to Jesus… and his aide was Polish as well, first generation, and thanks to my friend Kyle and others at Ostroda Camp I was able to share about my work.
I was wheeled off by a lovely and “typical” Puerto Rican “mamma” and we cracked up! She was kind and waited while my wife prayed over me.
and then God did what only he could do…
I was coming out of the anesthesia fog when I heard a familiar song being played. “I can only Imagine”, by Mercy Me.
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
My attending nurse asked to turn it up, and I heard another say “I thought you didn’t like this song” to which she replied “I never paid attention to the words” So to the six who were there and led by the Spirit of God I opened my mouth;
’This song is very special to my wife and me. Our first child died in child birth after a perfect pregnancy (everyone moved in closer). We were at a concert and we heard this song. I had a vision of dancing in heaven with my boy and Jesus, and my wife had a vision of Jesus speaking to her…. “Jesus stood between her and God and said ’this one is mine’, then he turned around and handed her our son and said ‘and this one, this is yours”. And the Spirit fell and opened holy tears as I was venerable with a room of people who know what that terror is like…. and I shared about my work and my nurse shared about her homeless friends she would see all those years she worked in the Emergency Room….
I am thankful that my intestines blew through my stomach wall next to my navel. I never would have been able to share the story of God’s deep and beautiful love we are seeing with the staff of the hospital.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing
with the glory that will be revealed in us.
